I was sitting there on Firefox when my keyboard died... ? So I shutdown my machine, reset the kb plug and restarted. I got an error before windows could boot (Ntoskrnl.exe not found or something along those lines) so I restarted again. Now I have a constant grinding coming from my system speaker/mobo and a looping memory test. The mobo will test up to 261,000 kb and then loop again. I restarted several times and to no avail would it stop. Once I got a memory failed message but rest of the time the test loops.

Also my keyboard doesn't respond and the num lock isn't on (normally is).

I took out my hard drive... should I try different RAM? It always worked before... its wierd. This setup has held me fine for 2 years now with no problems.

Tried another... no dice.

My mobo is fucked I think.... I get either memory test fail or my keyboard refuses to respond in different intervals. My ghetto IBM keyboard won't respond either...

Memtest ran successfully like a year ago... damn.

I'll keep trying but an upgrade looks very attractive right now.
 
Try moving RAM to another slot? if it's 2 sticks take one out? If you have another comp to switch components that would help alot.
 
Try new RAM, if it doesn't work then new mobo is needed. Hell, go new computer.
 
Tried new RAM... same crap.

I think I smell something... :eek:

Must check caps... maybe they've killed themselves.
 
Tried reseting the CMOS, reset CPU + RAM... nuthin.

Found a loose screw.... now it boots when theres no keyboard. :eek:

So naturally I tried my ghetto IBM keyboard... no dice. Tried another MS keyboard, she works fine. Holy shit.
