CompUsa Midnight Madness

I guess the most interesting thing is probably the Philips DivX DVD player, that'd be nice to have.

$5 for 25 blank DVDs is nice too, except you end up with crappy media.

Yes, but don't forget that as of yet, that 64mb doesn't do anything... at all.

Well then I am as of yet gonna get one untill they do use that 64mb... Or untill the price drops considerably. :D
Otherwise I'm just gonna get the Philips dvd player, the 1gb flash for my car and maybe a dvd-rw driver for my parents x-mas rig... gotta send back the BenQ-DQ60 to Newegg 'cause it sux.

Umm, check the media. I was excited to see a 25 pack of dvd blanks for 5 bucks, till I saw it was only 4x... You can go to SuckIt City and pay 7 bucks and get 8x media and save 8 minutes of your life.

I also checked out the compussr sale in Richmond, VA. I got there at 6:20pm, and bought the last 50.00 Divx player. Plays .avi files on cd-r. plays divx files somewhat okay. Quality is great, but I think I need to upgrade the firmware on it. One of the Divx discs shows up very pixilated, until I go into disc menu, and exit disc menu (hit the menu button twice) and when you get back from the menu, the image is crystal clear. I can't speak to the progressive scan abilities.. I'm on a 5 yo 35" toshiba bought when GT3 and the PS2 first hit the market.
