Compression or Barbs & water cooling help

I'm planning to get a custom loop, But want to know some info 1st:

Is Enzotech compression fittings good or should I get bitspower?

Or how is barbs compared to compression?

I know with barbs, I probably would have to use clamps (Some say the tubes fit very snug on barbs)

If I got bitspower, I know they have deep red colored barbs, But do they have deep red compression fittings (ID 1/2, OD 3/4)

This is gonna only be a single loop (CPU) setup for now with either a 5.25 bay res or 1 of those bitspower red res that mounts inside the case (Would I still need a bay res along with that?)

Pump will be a swiftech mcp655
Rad will be a xspc rx360
cpu block will be a swiftech apogee HD or xspc Raystorm (Havent decided, But I dont think I like acyrlic waterblock or would that be good?)
tubes will be primochill red tubing (20 feet of tubing just to be safe)

What about drain ports/fill ports?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
 
All compression fittings are basically the same except for slight variations in design. They all work the same way. I use bitspower compression fittings myself and never have had a problem. I have also used 7/16 tubing over 1/2inch barbs with no zip ties other than the pump outlet and never had a problem either. After using both, I would always use compression fittings over barbs any day of the week. As far as drain valves, I have never used them. I always order a few extra feet of tubing and if i wanna drain, i just snip the tubing with the cutters and retube the cut parts.

Barbs vs compression fittings is pretty much all about aesthetic and economic decisions. Neither is better than the other in terms of functionality.

I would use worm-gear clamps instead of traditional clamps if you go the barb route. Much easier to deal with.
 
those look nice enough but they are expensive as crap if its 4 bucks for one. you know you can get a box of 10 worm drive clamps for less than that right?
