Okay, me and my boss were having a discussion earlier. We have a server we are about to virtualize that's hard drive is completely compressed. Now, when someone requests a file from the server, we're trying to figure out which one it does. Does it:
A. Decompress the file and send the large uncompressed version over the network.
or
B. Send the smaller compressed file to the client and let it's hardware do the dirty work.
The server is running Windows 2000 Server. I figure it probably does the decompression on the server side. Anyone have a clue?
