Antec 500W Smartpower
Gigabyte GA-81PE1000
Pentium P4C 3.4/Zalman CNPS7000AL-CU
ATI Radeon X850Pro 256M
1 GB Kingston HyperX PC3200 2-3-2-6
Seagate PATA 160GB
Asus 16x Dual Layer DVD+/-RW
Wrapped in a Thermaltake Matrix case (bought local)

The smartpower has modular cabling, and I've only got one of the cables plugged in. That one cable is hooked to the HD (Antec connector), DVD (Antec connector), Vid card and 120mm fan in the back (vid card supplied splitter runs both) . Is that OK? Seems stable, and I've even got a small overclock to 3.5 GHz (not that I need it).

Gigaybyte Temp monitoring software says CPU is at 29 deg C at Idle with the Zalman (pasted with Ceramique) running at 2000 RPM. Didn't measure temp after a two hour gaming session this evening. Probably should have, though I had zero problems.

At any rate, just wondering how the power distribution works and if this is asking for problems. Should I run another cable to "isolate" things more or is it OK as is?

I scanned the forums and found this thread but while it got close, it never quite answered my question.

Thanks,
