"Completely" modular?

Are there any high quality units that even have the ATX cable as modular? I found one last night (forgot to save it), but I was unsure of the brand. It's for an aesthetic mod, but it will be powering some very good stuff, so high quality is a must. Thanks.

My Silverstone Strider 600 is totaly modular and there is a 750W version if you need even more power.

I was looking at Silverstones, but I only looked st the 400 and the 560 which do not appear to have the cables I needed. The 600 and 750 do. Thank you much, at least I have one good option.

Any others?

The ill fated Ultra X-connect powersupplies have the atx power connector separate.

LOL.. The "better luck next time" Ultra X2 is all modular as well. ;)

Who makes the above-mentioned SilverStone units? That may make my search a bit easier.

What is the point of having the ATX power connection modular? It doesnt look any better, IMO, especially since the first inch or so of the cable wont be near as flexible so cable management becomes a slight issue.

:D

Looks neat. Isnt a bad PSU either.
Coolmax 600w
Output: +5V@30A, +3.3V@28A, +12V1@12A, +12V2@21A, +12V3@13A, -12V@0.5A, +5VSB@2.5A.

Enhance makes the modular Silverstone PSU's.

And the reason for modular ATX power cables is that it is much easier to put in one with a shorter or longer length.

Or if running 2 PSU's, you don't even HAVE that ATX cable in the way.
;) I'll be doing a nice build in a Stacker, and I can rid myself of an entire cable in one supply (almost), and basically just have PCI-e hooked to it. It isn't the most efficient build, but looks and "e-penis" are high on the list for this one. Guy has $$$ and doesn't mind dropping a little extra. He knows I won't rip him off.

How do you plan to turn on the second PSU?

Sure: PC Power and Cooling. Unscrew the cover and unsolder the fixed leads; then, solder on or off whatever you want. I'd imagine that you can do this with any brand you'd like

Buy it a couple of drinks and tell it it's pretty. And that it reminds you of your first PSU -- but, only -- better.

all you need to do for that is make a cross cable between 2 pins on the ATX PSU over to the one that doesn't have the ATX cable. Very easy, and neat to do, saves the need for the other 22 pins and the massive cable.

Or you could make one yourself

rather, 5.

if you use the switch or the paper clips, it's not automatic.
If you cut and solder the wires, it is automatic.

Hell, I didn't realize that was a switched lead I quoted above. I plan to use a cable similar to the one that came with my Stacker to switch on the secondary supply. SHould only need to run 2 wires to the 2nd supply, and one plug (whatever kind is used) into the ATX portion of the supply. If I can't make it myself, I know several places that can.

I know that. :p I was wondering if the OP knew that. ;)
