• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for the guide and the great help avoiding the plague known as Winblows 10.
🥰
Glad to provide useful stuff. Stay tuned for more.
Yeah... 10/11 are atrocious abominations of the era, for sure.

Linux is just not ready for my work flow and i doubt it will ever be.

Out of extended support for over 2 years now and people are still using Windows 7 on internet connected PC's?
Heck yes! And my XP Atom netbook from 2009 still online too using New Moon browser :p

Just because it's not officially supported doesn't mean it's inherently a security risk.

Plus, it's the latest OS that's going to get targeted the most :p. Reverse security is a thing just like reverse racism is?

Good lord, Windows XP is almost old enough to drink!

Surprised? You may not have been around or recall how people clung to 98se or XP. They had a million reason why those would stay superior. Whatever the new OS is, it is always evil.

Oh I remember it very well.

You'd think 10 was a masterpiece after dealing with Windows 11.
I haven't touched Windows 11 yet. The only thing I have that runs Windows right now is my company workstation and I don't think they're looking at 11 upgrades yet. I wrote it off after seeing that they're going to start requiring a Microsoft Account for all installations soon.

I'll stick with Mac OS or some BSD.

Windows XP had telemetry but it was called something different. Back in those days, I used XP-Antispy to turn off those items. https://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/Antivirus---Antispyware/XP-Antispy-Portable.shtml

Other info on XP and Vista: https://msfn.org/board/topic/182557-have-winxpvista-any-kind-of-telemetry/

For Windows 7, I used an older install ISO dating back to 2014. I then went here to install just the security updates: https://www.askwoody.com/forums/top...-of-group-b-monthly-updates-for-win7-and-8-1/
