I'm working on putting an ECS Black Series A780GM-A AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard in an Antec Sonata III case. My questions are:

1) in the first picture below, is my CPU fan (2) facing the correct way for proper airflow?

2) I also bought an extra Arctic 80mm case fan (3). But can't seem to find a good place to mount it. I have 4 screw holes where this person in my second image mounted their's but it seems I may need a bracket to reach the screw holes??? Can anyone recomend a good bracket if that's the case? I guess I could just make own up to..

1) Yes you have the correct orientation (cool air blowing back through the fins)

2) That person probably drilled their own holes. You could do the same, or use zip ties. (When in doubt - use zip ties. :D)

Your cpu cooler is fine and you need longer screws. The thread on the screws don't have to go all the way to the head, but the screw has to be long enough to go through both holes on the fan body. You're going to need screws that pan head larger than the screw hole and about 30mm long.

@ zero2dash
they come with tapped holes

thanks for the quick replies guys. I totally didn't think about drilling my own holes. and since I'm only using 1 HD, space won't be an issue either. awesome. thanks again.

I'll actually probably go zip ties know that I think about it. I have an insane abundance and it's neater since the mobo is already in and I don't want to take it out..

Are you sure your case is suppose to use an 80mm to vent the front?

I have the original Sonata and it uses a 120mm fan. Maybe they changed it with yours but the pick you linked looks to be a 92mm or 120mm in the front not an 80mm. This would better explain why your holes don't line up.
