All I want to do is this:
The last item has some selective criteria. It must be 'normal' music, eg something a regular CD player can play. Plus I want the exact same quality the original CD had (or best approximation thereof).
WTF???? I thought this would be cake. I've done .wav compilations but the quality has been substandard, and for whatever reason C-Dex wants to take 35 minutes to rip 3 tracks!! Nero ctd's when I try to access Tool: Undertow. I got an EasyLAME recommendation from the Ars forums--it's that kind of night, I get a 'forbidden' message when trying to get to the download page.
Damn... I just want a quick compilation of tunes! I paid the $16 several times over for the 2-3 good tracks on each CD; all I want to do is combine all the good tunes so I don't have to filter out the bad.
If this keeps up I'm going to hang it up, buy a bunch of Neil Sedaka CDs and drink myself to death--if the music doesn't kill me first, that is. Help!!
- Rip selected tracks from several CDs to the hard drive
- Play around with the tracks (eg listen to them) to determine the 'best' order
- Burn those tracks to CD in the order I desire.
