Compellent system to Open Source questions.

So we have two Compellent series 20 controllers (have Fiber and iSCSI) and our service contract has expired , how feasible is it to move to a Free SAN solution? I have done some research on FreeNAS and Openfiler but i am still a newbie in the SAN world.

Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
 
Forgot to mention that the Controller connects to the drives through Fiber.

.. don't think i will get any help on this one though lol :(
 
You could get support contract on Nexenta. Or Solaris 11. I dont know the price, but check them up? Or use something free, like OmniOS, SmartOS, FreeBSD?
