I'm getting ready to build a new system and have a question...

I'm looking at the Socket 775 P4 and a PCI x16 video card- swinging towards the ASUS "P5GD2 Deluxe" 915P Chipset Motherboard For Intel LGA 775 CPU, and the Intel LGA775 Pentium 4 550 3.4 GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache, Hyper Threading processor. I've been reading that the 915 chipset requires really good power supplies, and a 24 pin power connector. This is fairly new territory to me, and I'm looking for suggestions on what would be a good power supply for that hardware.

enermax has an EXCELLENT power supply for your application. You need something that says "EPS" on it.

Antec also has one, but it's crap -- I've got a 25% failure rate on them so far.

You should look for ATX12V2.0 (or ATX 12V v2.0) compliant power supplies.

Dual +12V outputs and 24-pin connectors. Depending on the PCI-Express card you use you can use a standard ATX12v 1.3 PSU, however the more powerful you go the more likely you want a v2.0 PSU.

Here's some more info:
