So recently I scored one of these at Goodwill for 8$

So, I want to expand the base with a fresh built wood enclosure, and throw a PC into the base to run MAME.

For a PC, I have an i5 7500 Lenovo Tiny which has an NVME slot on the bottom of the system:

I've already verified that it's a PCIE x4 slot down there, so that's not a concern. Plus, it doesn't require anything super challenging to leave the slot exposed and running.

Now for the challenging part. I'm considering using a BPlus PE4C NVME -> PCI-E x16 Adapter kit:

to put a spare GTX970 into the box. (A 970, cuz it's in my closet already, and not an expense.)

Is there any reason to expect this setup wouldn't work together?

you'd be the first to try but it looks like it should work.

Sorry I can't help on your question, but that's a nice score for $8! I really need to get in the habit of scoping the goodwill.
