the main differences i see are the CRT type, the dot pitch, and the resolution maxes.

Can someone explain to me the difference in the two CRT types and the dot pitches? Is the extra $70 worth it?
 
The FE990 has a shadow mask..
wheras the 930SB has an arperture grille


Some will say one is better than the other but it all really comes down to choice..

Personally, i don't mind my FE990's at all.
