Im using a G5 atm and its a really nice mouse i like it, just one problem for me is that its kinda big for my hand.

I have small hands so im looking for a smaller mouse.

So far i have seen...

G9 which looks really cool and looks like its small enough for my grip. Only con is its pretty expensive.

Also the G3 looks nice and small as well, and the price is resonable.

And the MX518 but this mouse looks like it may be a bit big.

So if you have one of these mice pls lend me some advise. Thanks

I have a G5, I'm sick of it. More due to aesthetics though.

Try a Razer or that Microsoft/Razer mouse. It seems like most Logitechs have the same general feel. I'd like to see the G9 in person. That thing looks weird.

Yes your right, the logitech mice seem to all follow each other.

Im thinking of just getting one of those black microsoft intellimouse's that are about 9 bucks at newegg.

But im not to sure how well they track compared to the G5 i have already.

Really though the 2000dpi from the G5 spoiled me a bit on how smooth it is.

Oh, and im looking for a keyboard as well that illuminates the keys on the board.

My choices are the Saitek Eclipse for around 40 bucks, and the Microsoft Razer Recluse for about 60 bucks.

The best thing to do about gear like this is to find a place that caries it locally and actually go look at it and touch it.

I've purchased way too many crap keyboards online to ever buy one without having a hands on again.

I have just about used every single logitech mouse and i can say overall usage wise the mx air is the best especially if you have small hands, i thought the air part would be gimicky but it really does work for use in the lounge or "in theair",gaming wise this is real responsive! just dont lift the mouse up as it goes into air mode, i might try using it as a gun a la wiimote, it might work it might not but itll be fun trying lol.

VX Revolution, I love it.
Very low resolution for gaming though.

I'm in the market for a new mouse and keyboard as well. I'm absolutely sick of wireless keyboards and mice. My mouse, MX1000, is always going dead. And the keyboard that came with it misses keystrokes, adds in random characters, and sometimes doesn't respond at all. I believe it's due to some sort of interference. Regardless, I'm going wired.

I've decided I just wouldn't use the G15's LCD enough to make it worth it. I'm thinking of going with the Saitek Eclipse II for the keyboard. I'm also looking at the Razer Reclusa and the Razer Lycosa. Anyone have any experiance with any of those boards? The Lycosa looks very nice, but no way I'd be able to test one before buying. It's supposed to come out in November and cost $80.

For the mouse I've decided on Razer's new Lachesis gaming mouse. 4000dpi and a lot of customizable buttons. I'm still looking for a good place to buy this mouse. Availablility seems to be pretty spotty right now.

The more I think about it I might just go Lycosa and Lachesis. Keep it all Razer. :D

G5 and MX518, shape and size are the same. weight-wise, G5 might be a little heavier due to the tilt scroll wheel.

i have both G5 and G3. i like the G3 better and i have big hands (i'm 6'1"). the G3 is a lot lighter than the G5 even without any weights in it, the G5 feels top heavy (most of the weight is in the top front of the mouse). while the G3 feels more balanced.

when i mouse, i mouse with my wrist not my arm where my lower palm is resting on the mouse pad. i'm a twitchy FPS player so it works for me.

i bought the G3 first and bought the G5 later just to see what the hype was about when it was $28 shipped from dell, used the G5 for about a month then switched back to the G3.

I went to best buy to see if they had those 9 dollar microsoft mice like newegg has.

But they dont carry them anymore.

But did see a logitech revolution and it is fine. And its not to big.

The only reason i didnt get it is because the price was like 80 bucks!

I believe without a doubt that newegg has them alot cheaper.

Anyways im almost dead set on getting a regular ole 9 dollar microsoft mouse, if i cannot affor a revolution. These 2 seem like a good size for me.

Well at best buy i checked out the keyboards and they had both the recluse and the g15 which were both priced at 100 bucks.

Newegg has the recluse for sure, at about 40-50 dollars cheaper.

But i guess i went to BB just to feel out the mice.

Well my next issue is between which keyboard the recluse or the Saitek Eclipse but all and all i want a keyboard that can be seen in a dark room.

Avoid the Microsoft/Razor Habu mouse like the plague. It may look cool, but it has serious driver and firmware issues. If you actually follow the sequence of install instructions on the leaflet it will cause an incompatibility between the firmware and drivers which is a real pain to fix.

After trawling many forums to fix my problems with it (which seemed to be shared by many many others) I finally solved it... but I would never buy another. Utter shite.

Went back to a G5 on my latest PC. No regrets. Sometimes the scroll wheel becomes unresponsive, but thats only because it needs fluff cleaning out of the wheel !

I also have a Saitek eclipse (blue glow)... awesome keyboard. The first generation is better than the 2nd in my opinion.

Yes i remember when the habu came out and i heard alot of bad things about the mouse.

zombix, Staples had the logitech MX revolution for 49.00 bucks this past week, think its over today.

Thanks for the heads up water1. I believe there is one around my area i'll check it out.

QFT. This is the best (and really ONLY true) way to determine what you'll like the best.

BTW, <3 my MX518.

I just found my old MX 310. I shelved it because it was acting funny in XP. I forgot all about it and reinstalled it through Vista 64 bit.

Its running great now. And it fits my hand just right which was the reason i bought it in the first place.

Now to the next issue im having is which keyboard to get.

Im stuck in a mexican stand off between the recluse, logitech G11, and the saitek eclipse.

haha nice. i upgrade from the MX310, its an awesome mouse.

i've tried the G11, didn't like it feature-wise, the blue backlight is nice but thats about it. IMO, its worth getting the G15 over it. i settled on the logitech wave keyboard, it fits my needs perfectly. upgraded from my 2.5yr old logitech media keyboard. main reason for upgrading was i wanted quieter keys while typing/gaming. just my 2 cents.

Well i just purchased the G11 from newegg so im hoping that the keys are bright enough for me.

I have a 5-6 foot ultra violet or straight black light in my room mounted on my wall and still my keys are hard to see with all the lights off and just the lamp on.

So im guessing with the glow of the keyboard ill be able to finnaly see in the dark

If your looking for smaller go with the g9, I have it and it is very comfy. Prior I had a mx518 then g5 then g9.

I have kinda small hands for a guy and my New G5 is friggin awsome , best mouse I've ever owned ! Fits my hand perfectly.
