Looking to get a new pc for the wife. She currently is using a 10 year old pc. Pentium 2.4 Ghz and 2 Gig ram. Small harddrive.
She is a light gamer. Sims and Dragon age are the games of choice now. She can play these games on the current pc, but everytime it starts up it sounds like dry fans starting up. It`s gonna give out soon, besides she deserves a new pc.
She only wants to spend $550 to $600.
I got 2 pc`s in mind for her...

Newegg and Tigerdirect have NEARLY the same pc for sale but at around a $20 difference after shipping costs.
The Tigerdirect deal is about $20 cheaper, but compare the specs. Only difference I saw was the cpu speed (3.20 to 3.0) and the graphics card (512 mb to 1Gb)
Oh, also ones an Amd cpu and the other is an Intel I3.
Which pc do you think would bench better?
Any better deal currently for a pc that would bench better for the price?
Thanks for your input!

The Tigerdirect model has a HD5570, which is faster than a HD5450 by about... 4x? Anyhow, DA is a CPU bound game, and the i3 is faster in all but well optimized quad threaded programs...

for general gaming, I'd go with the one on Tigerdirect.

I'm a bit *too* lazy to search for other builds, but IBuyPower isn't known for quality, even compared to emachines cheap models...

+1 on the Tiger offered PC. Though, I'd have to agree w/ jeremy, I wouldn't go buying a iBuyPower. Have some fun and build her a PC. And maybe she could help too :)
