compaq presario 6010us

I was recently installing windows onto my girlsfriends compaq presario computer. When it got all loaded up i realezed the ethernet controller wasnt working, i checked all the disks included in the compaq, to make a long story short i got them onto my computer and put them on a hdd and put it in her computer. when i plug the hdd into her system and tried to boot it powered up then down...then to an idle like nothing was happening... power was on.....but nothing no video no beeps no load.......i tried pulling the bettery and see if it resetting the bios did anything...nothing..... so i pulled the hdd out.....nothingi tried everything....i cannot get it to load anything not even the stupid Compaq sign just a blank screen please help
