Hi everyone,

In my home router i have an IDE -> CF adapter and a 1GB viking compact flash.

This has been my router OS for ~ 2-3 years. The other day my router crashed to ddb> prompt (OpenBSD 3.5) with disc read/write errors. Formatting it under windows shows 115KB in bad sectors. I am currently rebuilding the box with 2 x 1GB kingston compactflashs (when I bought my viking a couple yers ago I think it was about $150'ish. The replacements were $49 ea !! )

questions:

1) Since this is solid state, can I partition around the bad sectors and continue to use the cf card without problems?

2) What suggestions would you guys have for using a 1GB compactflash that has bad sectors?
