I've found that ATI Multimedia Center 9.0 hates my computer. I can run it once, but any subsequent attempts to run the program result in a still picture with only sound. Attempts to kill it in Task Manager do not succeed; the only way to stop ATI MMC is to reboot my system.
So I installed DScaler. I've tried 3.1.0 stable and 4.1.8 beta. Both versions exhibit this behavior. I can start and exit them many times without rebooting, which is good. However, after I exit DScaler for the first time, the sound continues to play. I can keep it quiet by muting the sound card's Line-In or by just turning off my speakers, but nevertheless, the sound continues to play.
My configuration is listed in my sig. I am using the most recent driver for the TV Wonder VE, which was released in 2003. How do I stop the TV audio from playing after DScaler exits?
