RUNNING:Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum

after it happens, i can still hear windows sounds, but not game sounds

any ideas?

looking at my control panel, it has a yellow question mark over my Other Devices->Muiltmedia Audio Controller

in my side bar, next to my clock, it says i dont have a sound mixer installed

I've had similar problems with my Audigy 2 ZS Gamer in the past. Rolling back the drivers works, and then stops working. I fought with it for a while and then uninstalled all the stupid Creative crap (audio HQ and control panels), re-installed Windows with Service Pack 2, and then re-installed the driver only. I haven't had trouble since.

The multimedia audio controller thing should be a driver on your motherboard CD or on your MB manufacturer's website. Try installing that and see if it fixes your issue.

Looks like your sound card is the least of your problems. Is your internet connection still working when this happens? Have you ran a virus scan? That's several services being terminated at once.

Goto Admin Tools and open services. Right click Windows Audio and select properties. Click the "Recovery" tab and tell it to restart automatically.

so if it has to restart a bunch, how does that fix anything?

any way this can be RAM related?

thanks fools

ran a Hi Jack this

anything strange?
