Alright my rig and settings are as follows:
Opteron 146 CABYE 0540, should be a good OCer I thought(stock cooling)
DFI Lanparty Ultra-D
2 gigs OCZ platinum RAM (2-3-2-5)
OCZ 520w powerstream

LDT voltage 1.20V
Chip set 1.50V
DRAM 2.60V
Cool 'n Quiet is disabled
No shutdown temp

Now, my rig is stable at 2.4 ghz with a 5/6 divider for RAM at 200mhz. I ran about a 16 hour prime torture test on it (mixed). Temps are about 32 at idle and 46-48 at load

So then I tried to bump the OC up to 2.5ghz. I ran a 5/6 divider again and loosened my memory timings to 2.5,3,2,5. After about 6 hours on the small FFT test, my comp just shut off. I dont think it is the temps, as they are 36 at idle, and 46-48 at load. I tried it again and the same thing happened. So I'm wondering what the issue might be.

Do you think it is my RAM? Should I run a divider that underclocks my RAM to see if the issue is the CPU or RAM? I'm pretty sure the ram should be able to do 2.5,3,2,5 at 208mhz.

Or could it be the stock voltages? Should I raise them any and if so, how much? My guess is that its the voltages since the comp is shutting off and not just posting an error, but this is my first OC and I'm not too sure. I hope my CPU doesn't top out this low, because I heard of other people getting around 2.8 on stock cooling and voltages with the CABYE 0540(I thought?) But I also realize that nothing is guaranteed.

edit. I read a little bit and changed the LDT ratio setting to 3x in my bios, it was on auto. Gonna see if this helps

I underclocked the ram and it still shut off during the night running the small fft test, I've ran the blend as well and still the same result. So I guess I'll bump the voltage a little and see what happens.

Argh, after upping the LDT voltage to 1.3 and CPU to 1.4, it still just shut off after about 6-7 hours. I don't understand because it will never post an error in prime95, it just shuts off. I'm stumped as what to do. It seems to be able to run at 2.4ghz fine, but above that, it'll shut off after some time. Guess i will try to run the 2.4 for 24 hours and see what happens.

Well my comp shut off during the torture test at 2.4ghz. So I'm gonna guess that it is something other than the CPU and memory (was running at stock). My temps do not get outrageously high, just 48c under load. I'm running the memory in the orange slots. Not sure what to do now.
