Id like to start up a fanclub site, and use community software. Id like it to be more robust than a simple forum, but i dont need all the multi media frills that a site like myspace has.

Does anyone have any reccomendations? Software, or software+ hosting packages....

thanks

I think you'll first want to decide what it is you need. Something more than a forum, but something less than MySpace ... but what, specifically?

I don't know what kind of 'fan club' you are intending to make, as there might be some specialized GPL sources out there for you, but these two are customizable to fit your needs. Why not just myspace it?

I think a good example is facebook.

I want it to be customizable because what i want will probably change over time.

It has to be inexpensive because its not going to make money, (maybe google ads or something to pay for hosting)
