dont have much horsepower here, my lonely dual core 4200 and a 9600gso, running a gpu client and a single cpu client, had some issues with getting them up (right click run as admin.. duh, helps to know these thing. lol) i would crank up a smp client but i have heard of issue (in the past...) with trying to run both, has this been changed? (vista 32bit if it matters) running some pretty shitty cores on the cpu end, only gonna get 69 points from my first wu on the cpu, and 1352 on my gpu every thing says as of right now ill avarage just south of 4k/day, i could OC the cpu some, but i know its not stable past 2.5ghz (only 300mhz up ) and i can crank my core from 550 to 666 shader cores up from 1600 to 1950 (2k will crash out) but i cant touch the memory at all (and i know it dosent make a difference when folding any way). so if i where to tweak it up, im looking at maybe a 300 point increase, and i really dont see it as being worth the hassle, im also the type that wont skip a wu just because it has a shitty point value, all of the research needs to be done by someone.. grin and bear it.

regardless, im not running any flags or other tweaks, any advice on what i can do that will make a difference is welcome.

Welcome back online, every rig helps so don't worry about it.

CPu wise you could try the latest SMP client but if its your daily use machine i don't know if you would make the deadlines in time, especally with the crappy 67xx units that are arund at the moment. You could always run a 2nd copy of the classic client, use the -advmethods flag as there are some new WU out there that are worth slightly more points.

for the GPU crank the shaders up as far as they are stable - leave the others at stock and you are good to go

the cpu id stick with the uniprocessor client/wu's instead of SMP. as far as the gpu goes you should be doing 3k+ ppd. depending on which version of the 9600GSO you have if its the 512mb or the 384mb version. i run my 8800GS 384mb cards at 700/1728/1000 @ 4400 PPD. your 1352 PPD sounds like the cards stuck in 2D mode due to excessive overclocking and causing the drivers to crash. check with evga precision, or msi afterburner, or gpu-z in the sensor tab. if the clocks are 400/900/500(i think thats the 2D clocks) then your drivers crashed and you need to reboot.

id recommend running 650/1728/stock and see what the PPD is. if its stable shoot for 650/1782/stock see how that goes. odds are you will top out at 1782 on the gpu2 client, gpu3 will top out at 1836 most likely.

nono, your mistaking the point my current wu is worth vs my ppd fahmon is reporting 4263ppd on this wu type, we know that i may not get this type of wu next time, so that number may change, thus why i only listed what the wu was worth, and not my ppd, my total ppd for this rig as it sits is 4400 ppd (as of these wu's)

but, by your post, it sounds like i may be able to get about 2-300 more ppd out of just my vid card

oh your running the gpu3 client, explains it then. 4200 PPD sounds about right since the 9600GSO is your primary card. running the display on it has a bit of overhead. i lose about 500 PPD because i run dual displays on my primary card. my secondary card does 4600 PPD @ 700/1782/1000 on the gpu3 client. though i can run it at 1836 im worried about getting a p6600 gpu2 WU which will fail instantly at those clocks.

on the gpu3 client each shader step(step is 54mhz) you gain about 100 PPD with no displays connected, with displays its about 65-85 PPD.
