Basically I am 22 years old, computer sceince major who considers himself fairly knowledgable about electronics. Well my parents are on regular old Comcast cable, and now are upgrading to HDTV digital cable. I told them I could probably hook up the boxes without a problem, so they could pick them up rather than pay and wait for someone to come out to install it.
However, when they called comcast, they told me that they don't recommend installing it on my own, cause HDTV installation of there service is more complicated and could blow up the tv. Does anyone know how true this is? Is it that complicated to hook up, and I should leave it to the professionals? Or are they making a big deal out of nothing, and I should be able to do it myself? If anyone has installed it themselves, or have seen it installed and seen how easy or difficult it is, they help would be greatly appreciated.
