Hi. I'm looking for some advice on colour setup on a 2001fp.

I tried applying the .icc profile found here:

http://support.dell.com/support/dow...d=4291&devlib=22&category=22&releaseid=R68954

I applied it using the colour correction settings of my GeForce 4 Ti 4200 and straight away I thought "yuck!!!!" Really bad washed out colours. Much worse than the default settings.

So what do you guys recommend. I won't be buying a hardware calibrator, but what is the best software tool?

Maybe someone has a tried and tested .icc profile that gets good results. What else should I try?

I'm pretty impressed with the default settings, but I want to get this monitor as good and accurate as possible!

thanks for your suggestions...

Use Adobe Quick Gamma and make your own. (which is what I did). If you want mine I can email it to you, but I have my monitor set to custom color settings (45r 45b 45g)
