i was wondering what you guys thought on the subject topic. Iam looking to get a new printer. I was tossing up between inkjet or colour laser? im not looking for prestine image quality but just a good economical choice

any thoughts?

Other than the initial expense, over time, Laser printers are cheaper. Inkjets have an advantage in color quality, but you mentioned you were't looking for photo-graphics, so I would recommend a color laser.

the HP Business Inkjet 1100 series is a good bet - inexpensive purchase price, and near-LJ cost of operation.

I really fucking hate inkjets, so I am going to have to say go with the color laser. HOWEVER, color laser printers are quite expensive, since you need four toner cartriges. They will last considerably longer than inkjet cartriges, though, so in the end the laser printer will be quite a bit cheaper. It is just a matter of spending the money up front. I've had limited experience with color laser printers, though, so I can't recommend any particular one.

I vote for Color laserjet if you are not doing photos on photopaper. Toner is expensive (mine cost me $150 for each color), but they do last a long time.
