Colors too bright, ack!

Hi all,

I just bought myself a Samsung SyncMaster 701T. It's on ATI Radeon 9200, DVI.

I'm having a problem with colors. They're too bright, especially white. In fact, they're so bright they give me headach. I've tried toning down brightness and contrast, but neither combination I've tried seems to get it right. Do you have any suggestions? Did anyone of you had these problems? Is this specific for LCD monitors?
 
you can also use your video card tools, that might help you some....
