This problem started to appear on my old TN CCFL monitor. The colours should be even yet they're not. What's causing this?

parts of letters are really bright. shouldn't be like that.

You can notice bright spots on some parts of the text.
This problem occurs on bright text no matter what color it is.

Probably due to the LCD matrix aging (or some dirty spots on your monitor :p) ?
