Every once in a while my superstable systems decide not to be so stable anymore.. around that time, is when I get depressed
Seriously though.. my problem now is, when starting the comp I only get colored vertical lines, thats the first thing that shows up on the screen, so its before bios etc.
It didnt happen when I restart the comp from windows, it does however happen when I press reset button now.
It works every now and then (one out of 20 tries maybe) and I havent really found any logic behind when it works and when it doesnt..
Its not a very new problem really, it has been this way for like a month maybe, started when I arrived at a LAN and plugged it in for the first time there (so maybe something happened during the ride there), I dont shut off my computer alot tho so it hasnt been a huge problem, and the other times I have shut it off it started working pretty fast (2nd or 3rd reboot maybe) but now its worse.
So basicly.. anyone know what might be wrong? Please don't just tell me "fried vid card" cus it has worked great in games and such and it starts normal every once in a while.
Specs are:
epox 8rda+
amd xp 2400+
1gb ram
gffx 5900 (MSI)
Ive tried clearing CMOS, reseating vid card, changing power cord to the vid card, starting vid less HDDs connected etc. Its sortof interesting that the same thing happens without the power cord to the vid card the screen looks the same (does anyone know what usually happens without the power cord connected?)
Please help? =)
