Cold Boot Issues

Hi All,

I have been having continuous issues with core2 duo motherboards. The most recent of which is a cold boot issue .

I have an Striker Extreme mobo and a e6600 C2D. When I try to turn on the computer after it has been sitting off for hours, it will not boot. All the fans, and drives turn on, but no power to the USB keyboard or mouse, as well as the monitor. After 2-5 reboots it will start working, but most of the time will come up with a cmos error restored to default settings.
Before this board I had a EVGA 680i. The Evga board had the exact same problem as this one.
Is this a common problem with this chipset?
Is anyone else having similar issues as me?
Is it possible it is my processor causing the issue?

Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo
2 GB OCZ Platinum DDR2 Ram
EVGA 8800 GTX
Soundblaster X-Fi Music
WD Raptor 74GB drive
2x 300 GB seagate
PC Power and Cooling 750 Quad Power supply
