My logitech has a USB port on the left side so I picked up a coiled cable hoping the cable won't be in the way. Just hope the cable works its called a mamba snake.

I'm a charter member of the Coiled Cable Master Race. I tried to get on www.mambasnake.com but AT&T blocks the site as a 'malware page.'

Something to make your work go by faster. You can look forward to using your new coiled keyboard cable.

I like this thing I don't have to run my cable behind the monitor since the USB-C port is on the left side for some reason. It's vinyl coated cable nothing special. Looks like the throwback cable on old IBM keyboards.

There was a period of time when I was making these types of cables myself, mostly selling one-off to people who expressed interest.. I had a good amount of leftover assorted sleeving from a brand that really did a great job (MDPC-X) and making custom length USB cables was a nice way to make use of it as I didn't trust my inexperienced craft sufficiently to work on individually sleeved PSU cables and the like. The coiled cable aesthetic was coming into fashion and a lot of users were paying considerable amounts to get one matched with their new keycap set or the like, so I was able to make much cheaper alternatives with the understanding there may be small imperfections. I followed guides to make and set the coils properly, but if I was to do it again I'd get one of the little widgets to make it easier. The connectors were at the time, a big deal. Aviator 5-pin was a big thing (this was also noteworthy in tthe arcade stick community before the arrival of USB-C; "pro cables" usually were made with this sort fo connector, to connect to a Neutrik-style mount for the receiving side converting the external locking aviator to a USB TypeA or TypeB inside the stick as needed) but as it became more popular users wanted rarer similar designs like Lemo, YC8, MiniXLR etc.

While a good bit of it is aesthetics, there can be some functional improvements - a relative had nothing but difficulty finding cables that would charge his phone properly or allow for data connection, so after getting frustrated with a few cables off Amazon, he asked me to take a look . It turned out that relatively few cables were able to give full compatibility with his phone's (likely deteriorated, but still it shouldn't have gotten this bad) USB connector. I found that one of the few cables that worked was the one that came with my phone, which was better insulated, sleeved, and the connectors were designed in a way that allowed it to plug in just a tiny bit deeper than some of the cheap Amazon/alixpress resale cables and that made some of the difference. Building a cable with higher quality connectors, no collar that got in the way of plugging it all the way in, proper wire gauges, and the like solved the problem for him. Coiled cables are fun and aesthetically pleasing, but seem to have proliferated into the larger community now so you see a lot of cheap(er) premades out there

. I don't know if I'd attempt to sell anything given the wide market filled with professionals (and if I was making them all by hand and using the high quality materials I'd want to use for my own use I'd have to charge boutique prices) but I really should get back into making custom cables again. I've also been in the process of remodeling a couple rooms and when I bring my tech/hardware back in, it may be smart to just have custom length ethernet runs and the like for visual neatness lest others in the house claim things look cluttered heh

This thing was locking up my Windows 11 I couldn't click on icons went back to my old cable been problem free since then.
I started having connection problems with my 2 coiled cables a couple months ago. Thought the keyboard might be dying, but tried swapping the coiled cables for a standard USB-C cable. Problems disappeared instantly.

Lesson learned.
