So I recently built a new rig and its components can be seen in my sig. My question is that recently, when I play CoD4 sometimes the game stutters. I'm using the onboard sound and was wondering if maybe its the sound chip thats making it stutter since it can't process all the sounds. Does that even make sense? I have an Audigy card but thought I'd give the onboard sound a try. Plus I may be moving to Vista64 and I heard it doesn't support EAX which sucks. Any help and suggestions would be welcomed, thanks.

The sound shouldnt be causing it. As a general rule of thumb, when you experience stuttering reinstall your video card drivers and defragment your HD. If that fails, well see what else can be done.

Well my rig is brand new. Not even 2 week sold but I will give it a try. As for the thread you mentioned, it not really lagging per say but it just stutters like once in a blue moon. Just wondernig what htat was.
