COD4 driver conflict

I have just purchased my first AMD card a XFX 6850. I am using 11.4 driver. I play older games mainly TW 2008.I tried the latest driver but the game would not load.TW plays very good but COD4 crashes to the desktop.I also play Madden 07 without problems.

I have an older system with xp and sp1. My previous card was an 8800gt using an older driver 169,09.No problems with anything.If I find a driver that works I stick with it.This computer is used only to play games.I have laptops for everything else.


I am pleased with the IQ on this card and no problems with driver installs.I would appreciate any info on what drivers people are using for COD4. I would hope to find a driver that is compatible with both games so I don't have to revert back to the 8800..
 
I never have had any issues unless it was a beta driver from either company. Newest driver shouldnt give you any problems. Did you fully uninstall whatever card you had in there before? delete the old drivers in your C: drive? run ccleaner for Registery files\folders? try a clean install of windows?
