I am considering buying this game, but want the best online multiplayer version. Which one would you buy, the PS3 version or the PC version?

As much as I thought this game looked awesome.
I'm gonna have to agree with SixtyWattMan about this, there are far more fun games to play, especially if you have a PC.

360!!!

;)

If you want it to play multi on then go with PS3 version over the PC.

The PC multiplayer makes me want to pull my hair out with server related issues.

I have a kick ass quad core dual 4870's with 8gb ram machine, but I am SICK of playing DOD:Source and TF2. I need a GOOD online multiplayer shooter game. I thought this was going to be the one.....

What game do you recommend?

I have played neither, but If I were to go with either, I'd go with PC just for the mouse/kb control.

With MW2 being an FPS (ie., mice are preferred), I'd suggest the PC version. I'm on level 42, and have had very few problems w/ the servers/connections, and it is fun. Due to the number of players allowed, and relative to COD5, I do miss larger maps. Smaller maps tend to cater to the run and shoot crowd, but good matches can be had.

Unless you have a rocking PC with a really nice monitor, I would get it for PS3. (Unless you have a sucky TV). The multi-player has been downgraded on PC so you get nearly the same thing (p2p). Although, the PC prolly has slightly less moronic neanderthal children, if you have a nice TV, get it for PS3.

The OP's pc seems pretty good...

PS3, the same reason with COD4. The game is made with console in mind, PC is merely a port from the console version. Though one thing I still don't like about the controller control is how I cannot have crouch and knife button easily reachable at the same time.

Like I said, my PC can handle a lot right now:

* Cooler Master Elite 330
* Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P motherboard
* AMD Phenom II Quad 940 Black Editon - Stock cooling
* 8GB G-Skill PC2-6400
* XFX Radeon 4870 1GB
* Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA II
* Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATAII
* Onboard LAN/HD Audio
* Logitech DiNovo Keyboard
* Logitech MX Revolution Mouse
* 2 X Yate Loon 120mm silent case fans
* 2 X Dell" S2309 W @ 1900 x 1080

Ok, I give up, get it for the PS3....and enjoy playing kids w/ auto aim turned on. (sarcasm).

Get it for the console, and then buy a proper FPS for the PC.

Sorry, I get the whole FPS & Mouse/KB combo and all of that, but seriously, the game was made with the Consoles in mind. Yes, there are a lot of idiots and miscreants on the online side of the PSN (I have the game for the PS3), but out of principal, this game will never find its way to my computer's hard drive, ever. Between L4D, TF2, even Battlefield Heroes and Quake Live, there are just a better games to play with on the PC side.

Which points me to this aspect: on any given night, there is about 200k+ people online playing this game on the PSN (possibly more on XBL though). I don't know how populated the PC multiplayer is, but atleast you have a hard number from a person that owns the PS3 version.

... Do you not have friends with this game? I have a PC, 360, and ps3. .. and i bought it for 360 because thats what my friends have and thats what makes these games fun. . . . If i would have had a choice I would have picked ps3. .
Reasons to choose ps3
1) the controller is way better for fps games than the 360s controller which has a huge deadzone and a short stick travel
2) Compared to the 360, there aren't nearly as many kids that play ps3 shooters. In fact, I've met more older people (40+) on ps3 than any other console I've played on.
3) and 3 . .. . xboxs like to die. . my ps3 is ol trusty and she never breaks C:

and with all the rumored pc problems.. i'd stay away from it. . . although pc fps is better. . i'd stay away. . . I kinda like that the consoles are harder to aim too. . . I play my counterstrike more competitively and then I play my console shooters more sit back and relax if that makes sense.

I agree completely.

I dont see how people can say the game is bad when we waited 2 years for a good cod game waw was absolute trash

I bought the PC version (also have a PS3). First time playing any COD and it is awesome, but I'd really like to see dedicated servers.

I had this problem. It was 360 vs PC though. I ended up getting it for the PC (and love it) but most of my friends have it for xbox 360 so I miss out playing with a lot of them. Either way, the game is a ton of fun.

Unless you have lots of friends on PSN who are playing the game, get it for the PC. It's easily the better version between the two. Either way, it's an amazing game... lots of fun to play. As unfortunate as the decisions they made for the PC version may be, Infinity Ward are still damn good at their craft and it shows in this game. Most people here telling you not to buy it for the PC probably haven't even played it on the PC platform (if any at all).

Battlefield Heroes. Proper PC FPS.

HAHAHAHAHA!

To be fair, battlefield heroes is possibly one of the worst games ever lol... Do people actually still play that garbage?

What game do you recommend?

COD4, COD5, Arma 2

The PC version is so consolized all to hell, it doesn't really make any difference.

The only benefit I had with the PC was getting to play the singleplayer in ultra high resolution settings and with a mouse, and for slightly cheaper, I absolutely would not recommend getting this game, find a way to experience the 5-6 hours of singleplayer without buying full price and then move on.

I bought both because a few friends want to play pc.. a few ps3.

I have to say i enjoy ps3 more. Even though visually it looks better on pc.

have it for PC, really enjoying it. Thinking I might pick up a copy for PS3 as well to play with friends.
