COD errors & black ops choppy?????

IN both mw2 and black ops, i have gotten errors which crash the game. I need to ctl alt del to get out and just end the game through task manager. In black ops, the singleplayer is a little choppy also. I have an 8800gtx, which i thought would be good enough. You can see my other specs below. Anyway, I can get another 2 gigs for my pc for about 40 bucks, do you think that would improve the gameplay and possibly fix choppiness and crashes??? I'm not willing to commit more money, because in another year im considering another build...

Black Ops crashes on a lot of PC's regardless of configuration.
Freezes up on mine after 4 or 5 rounds of mulitplay, usually.
My brothers does the same and his machine is totally different than mine, but with an ATI card.

I hope they fix it soon since it is pain in the ass when you are on a roll and the game locks up.

I haven't play MW2 in awhile, but when I did play, I don't remember it crashing on me.

GF had a similar problem... GO figure that she took off avira anti virus and it works... but thats up to you whether you feel pc safety is less important then the game working. She is running on windows xp pro sp3

What graphics settings and res are you running the games at? Is it still choppy and running badly if you take the settings down lower than what you're using?

Except for shit controls...

I was having issues too (crash after 15-45 mins) and I changed the graphics from trilinear to bilinear (as suggested on the Steam Blops forums as a possible temp fix) and it worked for me.
