CNPS9700 fan replacement / mod

Heh, Go big or go home. Maybe a nice 5k rpm Delta!

Funnily enough, I considered that. I have a number of 120mm x 38mm Deltas laying about from some experimentation I did involving ridiculously over-the-top airflow and cut-foam panels to duct airflow around things. Even at low RPM they move a lot of air. I saw somewhere that someone did a mod to the 9500 that involved clipping the "cowl" of copper around the fan off of the heatsink entirely and then strapping a huge-ass Delta onto it. I was shooting for quiet over cooling performance, though ;)

Well, disregard everything about that mod I did... Load temps are not even remotely acceptable. System reboots. Not enough air jamming into the cooler with the Silenx fan. Ah well. :(
