cmoy amp advice needed

i currently have a pair of maxell nc-11 headphones, which sound pretty good, except when the noise cancellation is on, when they snap, crackle, and pop occasionally. im debating of whether building a cmoy amp would benefit the audio, but i doubt i would notice all that much. really just looking for a project to do, but as far as audio goes would you guys see it being worthwhile?
 
IMO, it's worthwhile even if you don't see any improvement with your current headphones. The satisfaction of building something with your own hands is worth it (if you're into that kinda thing, and it seems like you are). The improvement in sound is just something extra. ;)
