with my ic7, p42.4c if i have hyperthreading enabled i get a cmos checksum error.

if i disable(hyperthreading) it the cmos checksum error goes away, whats up with that?

are you o'cing ?

that's the only time i get an error..

Have you tried clearing your cmos (either through jumpers or pulling the battery) and then going into the bios and setting everything to default? If you do make it into the bios check softmenu and make sure that it's showing the default speed for your processor..

edit- it could be a bad processor if everything is fine with HT turned off..

I know its a checksum error and thats bios related yet could an OS that does not support HT cause an issue on post?

nope, the OS has nothing to do with POST. The hard drive isn't even checked at POST, it checks afterwards. The OS isn't even in the game yet.

i kept getting checksum errors before my processor stopped working w/ HT enabled.
