cmos checksum error.....advice please

I am putting together a new system. however when I try to boot up I get the "cmos checksum error". This occurs even with default settings. When i try to change the cd drive to the first boot device I save and exit but I get a message on screen that says no video signal and I have to reset the cmos with the jumper. I have to reset with the jumper everytime I turn the computer on. Has anyone had this problem before. Anyone have a solution. I have replaced the battery on the board but that hasn't done any good.


Does anyone know how to flash the bios of a new system? One that does not yet have an OS.
 
What kind of mobo is it?

You should be able to flash the BIOS w/ a floppy drive and a third party flashing program, based on the brand of BIOS it is, etc.
 
go to radioshack and buy a new cmos battery. i've had this happen to me and replacing the battery fixed the problem.
 
Already tried replacing the battery. That did not work. I have never actually flashed BIOS before (I have only used 3rd party apps to do it) so I don't know exactly how. Anyways, I tried to create a DOS boot disk so that I could flash the BIOS but for some reason none of my diskettes are any good. I can't write anything to them. :mad:

The board is a DFI UT Ultra-D
