will cm replace this? if not, anyone link me to a replacement? i havent had much luck communicating with cm's usa tech support.
 
why? lol but my case looks so sad without the light on. so sad indeed...

what size led is in there? can anyone link me to a blue or turquoise replacement? im needing turquoise for a case mod...

and what size leds are in the fans?
 
well thats weird, the power led came back on after 10 hours of the comp being on. woke up the led was off, turned off the computer and turned it back on still off, now after being on for like 10 hours, its magically back on. oh well....
 
i switched the wires after my other post and nothing, but left em reversed anyway. and its back on now. what the hell, mobo?
 
Would have to be I guess.

If you want to get creative put a resistor on it and hook it up to the 5V on the PSU.
 
only weird thing is i didnt think led wires could be switched? i thot it only worked one way.
 
Maybe is morse code, I would start writing each one down, your mobo could be trying to communicate. :D
 
2 days with it on and it just went out again. gonna check the pins with a multimeter
 
jus came back on. connection is secure, wiggling does nothing when its out.
 
Try testing the LED with a different power source? LEDs have tremendous lifetimes, so I highly doubt there's something wrong with the LED itself. It really seems like a mobo issue.
 
well id need resistors to run it off a rail, and if i put it on the hdd pin itll hardly ever come on anyways, so i wont know. im gonna wait for it to go out again and measure the points on the mobo.
 
Do you have any other mobos or computers around that you could hook it up to? If not, try hooking it up to the HDD connector and run something like HD Tach to create drive access.
 
jus thought, i COULD hook the hdd led up to the power led pins, that would tell me its the mobo if it ends up going out.
 
the hdd led powered on when i put it on the mobo headers for power led. putting the pins for power led back on, no power led lit up. either the led(never heard of an LED being flaky..) or the wires. cant figure it out, its not like the computer is shaking and something loosens, its weird.
 
took off the heat shrink from the led legs, they are in fact getting 1.9v. its the bulb!
 
That's pretty bizarre, never heard of an LED behaving like that. Try CM customer service again, and if that doesn't work then just measure the diameter of the LED and replace it with an equivalent one.
 
will you beleive my fucking luck? The power led has been on for 3 days, and now, just now, i see a flickering in the corner of my eye. the top left led on the front case fan is going on and off! the other 3 stay on, its just this one, going on and off. im so angry.

yeah. the fan led was out for a good 30 min, then came back, flickering again, which is what its doing right now. I think the led i sent to heaven (a 5v i fed 12v) is getting back at me...
