CM V8 adding a second fan

Has anyone tried to add a second fan to this cooler? if so, would it make any big difference?

1-2C tops.. goes for almost all heatsinks running push/pull setups.. makes very little difference..

Actually, the problem with the V8 is the fact that it has very dense fins and one fan does have trouble pushing through. I could see adding another 1600-2000 RPM fan helping temps from 5-10C depending on what CPU your using and the heat load it's putting out. These figures are for load temps. At idle, there will be very small to no difference.

Thanks for your responses. I am running a I7 920 OC to 3.6GHZ my temperature right now are 42C / 72C (idle/load). I tried taking my I7 to 4.0GHz but the temperature increases to 50C / 90C. I know that the critical temperature is at 100C but i will like to get it lower from 90C to 80C or below. So i was wondering if adding this FAN will make it happen otherwise ill keep it at 3.6 GHz

Like the others said, adding a second fan does generally help, though it varies. It definitely shouldn't hurt anything, just make sure that you use two of the same fan (or at least similar rpm and cfm). Also, can you lower your cpu vcore at all without losing stability? That can make a big temperature difference. What are your ambient room temperatures at? 50C at idle seems high to me (thanks to my lower room temps I see around 52C at load at 4.0GHz, though obviously I'm using a different heatsink). You may also want to try reseating the heatsink and maybe using a different thermal paste.

My stable vcore is at 1.31 for 4.0 GHz, though i have HT enable. My room temperature is around 25C. My thermal paste is the Artic MX-3 and i have reseated it like 3 times without big changes, my best result was 35C / 60C (idle/load) at stock speed.
