Because CM Storm is gaming focused, and most gamers these days use WASD rather than the numpad for their left hand. A full-sized keyboard leads to an uncomfortably wide spread between the left keyboard-hand and the right mouse-hand when used in conjunction with a large mousing surface (like a ratpadz). A tenkeyless keyboard allows a more natural shoulder-width spread between left and right hands when combined with a large mousing surface.

This +1 , i like it. It's plan and simple. Also you can buy a num pad if you must have it , i barely use mine as is.
 
I don't use my numpad whatsoever for gaming, but I do use my computer for other things, like work.... guess i gotta wait for a full size keyboard to go on sale.

I only use the number pad for games. Never ran out of keys for internet use, but plenty of games run out of keyboard keys. :p

Not forgetting so much as ignoring. The TK's are made by a different OEM, cheaper plastic housing, PWM dimmed flickering backlighting. When the numpad is enabled, you end up losing some keys that I personally like to use when using the numpad on spreadsheets like pageup/pagedown. It's a half-assed solution that ends up not really fulfilling it's auxiliary role.
 
I have this exact keyboard and I love the size of it since it doesn't have the numerical pad on the right side, it fits on my desk's pullout keyboard drawer perfectly. I had a Logitech G11 that would not fit there, it's like four times as big, PM me if you are interested in buying my lightly used Logitech G11.
 
Its a nice keyboard (I have bought two with different switches previously) but $75 really should be the normal price for this keyboard so I wouldn;t call it much of a deal. I bought one new for $70 shipped nearly 2 years ago granted it was a similar sale.
