Club OC - Seagate 15k.6 benchmarks

SAS will 100% replace parallel SCSI but I don't expect to see it cheap like SATA drives so it becomes the common form for home use.

I remember when damn SCSI cables cost more than the drives. However, those drives in Raid 0 do show some serious pwnage.

I've been using 15k sas drives for about a year now on my webserver, they are sweet

Ive got 4 of i could part with anyone wants one....I really want to try out some mtrons or OCZ ssd's

That integrated Marvell SAS controller seems to be a poor performer, since I find it hard to believe that the Seagate's would perform that poorly in RAID.

Velociraptor's on a ICH9R seem to beat this build for far less $$$, let alone my results on an Areca controller.

Of course, if it is I/O's you are after, those Seagate's will win in server apps/benches (though maybe not on that Marvell).
