Cloth mouse with a hard base

I haven't tried anything yet but a qck+ from steelseries and and from what I can tell I like very much the cloth surface itself, but there was another detail that made me regret buying a soft mousepad. The base is so spongy that every single time I let my hand rest on the mousepad, being a palm grip user myself, the mouse slows so much that I find it hard to use it, to the level where I lose my focus. The difference in speed/friction is just too big compared to steelseries 9HD for example. However, no matter how much I love a plastic mousepad, I could not find anything bigger, more then 34 x 28 cm, while 9HD is 32x 27. I doubt 34 cm is enough, but if I could get a 38x30 (or 29) cm plastic mousepad, I would simply quit searching for cloth mousepads, cause I start to doubt that there is a cloth mousepad that isn't spongy and that will add friction depending on the weight of my hand.
Any advice on this?

I normally suggest QCK mouse pads for people who prefer cloth surfaces, like I do. If you're having a problem with thickness I'm guessing that you're using one of the thick QCK models, because the basic ones are so thin that I can't imagine that one would be too thick for anyone. I recommend buying a QCK original or mini, which are a lot thinner than the QCK+ or QCK Thick. Look for one listed as being 0.08" thick.

I have a mini at home and another one at work, I don't know why no one else makes decent cloth pads these days.

Curiously enough, QCK heavy has a harder base compared to qck+. Harder means that is less spongy, mouse feet don't sink into the surface, and friction doesn't increase exponentially.
Thickness is not my concern at all, be it 1 mm or 6 mm, I only want the base of the mousepad to be stiff, so that I don't get increased friction based on the amount of pressure I put on the mouse by resting my hand on it. QCK+ is way more "sinky" or "spongy" then qck heavy. The least "sinky" mousepad I ever tried is steelseries 5L, however the speed of the surface was not fast enough and was a bit too thick.

Some people here have been using cutting mats which should be big enough. They aren't quite as slick as the hard teflon mats but I'm sure they're slicker than cloth pads. You could also look into getting a large teflon mat (not made specifically as a mouse mat). I haven't heard of anyone doing it though.

The tracking accuracy isn't as good on the cutting boards but if you're using such low DPI you need more than 34cm it probably won't be an issue for you.

The slickest, fastest mouse pads I've ever tried are the C4 NGen04. In fact, they're too slick for me. You can get them in several different sizes.

I'm a recent convert to cutting mats. They really are an excellent combination of speed, accuracy, and control, IMO.
