I have two 6GB kits for a total of 12GB (They didn't have anything else better than this when I built my current system)


I can't get over this speed. System has a hard time even posting.

Any ideas, or is this it?
 
I have the 3Gb set of this ram and it's good for 1800mhz with increased QPI voltage of 1.4v and 1.68v DRAM. Im not sure what the ram performs like with 2x6gb kits though. For starters i would put the voltage to 1.66v, keep 2T and 8,8,8,24,88 see if you can increase it further.
What bclk you running at?
 
Thanks Rossi. I'll try that. I think my voltage on the RAM was 1.5v, so that might make the difference.
 
Well I tried and had to reset my CMOS and then rebuild my fucking RAID and reload my image--lol. Fun fun.

It just doesn't want to go over 1153.

Anymore ideas, like QPI/VTT which I had at 1.5v for sure should have been enough. Bumped the RAM voltage to 1.65. Uncore was just a little over 3200. I only boosted RAM speed to I think 1540? Something like that. So what's up? Will I have to run my RAM at 1064 or 1140?

Also, do yuo know how I can backup my BIOS this time? I don't want to RAID and Image restore all over again. Takes me about an hour.
 
They gave me settings and it would not work. in fact the mod gave me voltages for the QTT and there is no way it would run using that voltage setting, when the QTT is 6.8GTs.

After I get new pins from Cogage, in the mail now, I'll start testing the RAM as sets, and then individually.
 
I'm posting a reply to confirm that the BIOS was the problem. I upgraded the BIOS to F10 and used a x21 multiplier at 181Blct for 3.8 and stable as hell. As for the sleep reboot problem, that is fixed also. I did upgrade my video drover which may have fixed the sleep to wake problem also. I hope this helps someone.
