Is there anyway to just clock your processor to check and see what its running at? or is it going to run at what it says it will all the time? sorry for the "stupid" question just something i always wondered...

Your CPU won't spontaneously change clock speeds after boot-up, unless you have some kind of dynamic motherboard overclocking utility running. The speed will stay where you set it.

You can always check the actual CPU speed and other system stats with CPU-Z:

I'm confused do you mean overclocking? Depends who made and dont oc on a laptop bizzzz fried.

most laptops have special code to knock down the multiplier to save power, so the battery lasts longer, and it consequently stays cooler. p3s have speedstep, amds have powernow, a64 has cool n quiet. there is nothing wrong with running it lower, and when and if the laptop needs more power to process whats going on, the multiplier is bumped back up, and you dont even notice

thank you "falls included" thats al the information i was looking for.. now if i could just get my gig of ram i would be happy, thank again
