I just built a new system in april, using the DFI Infinity NFII Ultra board. My clock (windows, at least) is gaining time at an insane rate, its probably doing something like 40 seconds to a minute, i think, because I just resynched it an hour ago and its something like an hour ahead already. I'm using windows time synchronization. Is it already time to replace my battery, or is something else amiss?

the time isn't as bad as I thought, it only gaid about 3 minutes in the hour, and yes, it is oc'ed, but stably.

not sure if this will work for you, but it worked for me...

has your system been unplugged for a while? mine was unplugged for about 5 months, which i guess was enough for the cmos battery to drain or something. anyway, under stable overclocks, i was getting the same issue as you. i posted about it, and someone reccomended i get a replacement battery from radio shack or some other place. i replaced it and haven't had the issue since ;)

good luck to ya

hrm, so one person says it isnt the battery, one says it is. the computer hasn't been unplugged really.

Well, batteries are cheap and fairly simple to replace, so try that first.

You might just have a bad clock in your computer or something... which isn't easily fixable really.

i say just replace the CMOS battery, it may be low. If you really want to, you could reflash your bios also, it could be a faulty bios or something, or maybe the battery might just be defective. ither or should fix the problem, that is if your that concerned about the clock ganing time, if it had been me in your place id could care less of the minor inconvenience of not being able to tell correct time off of my puter :D

My voltage reading program is reading VBAT as 3.14 (heh). I reflashed my BIOS with the latest one from DFI about a month ago, that could be causing it. In any case I guess I'm not too bothered, I'll probably get around to it.

Thanks everybody.

You can measure a small battery like that with a VMM unless it's under load.

I really don't think the battery's gonna fix it, but like the others have said, it's cheap, and easy, so try that first. I agree 100% with them on that. Radio Shack has em for like $1.97 or soemthing.
