clipping type distortion

sometimes no idea why, I get a clipping type distortion from my speakers, using XFI Prelude and Vista X64, it comes through both my receiver and my Klipsch 5.1s at basically all volumes

I've tried lowering the volume on the source to 75% and 75% in windows

its random though, doesn't happen all the time :S


any ideas?

bad cable being bumped the wrong way?
test the speakers with a different audio source and see if it still happens - if it doesn't, it's an issue with your machine.
