My MPICH 6.23 client won't start any more. It was running for months on my work PC without any problems. I took the laptop on vacation with me and it started to develop 7B errors. Figuring that this was a network issue, I paid it no mind until I was able to get back to the office today. But I still have the 7B issue. I tried re-running the install.bat and reinstalling the whole thing in another directory. No dice. I even removed all of the files from the drive and d/l'ed the install package again. I can run the install.bat, and MPI is working. but when I try to run the cleint exe, smpd.exe starts, but nothing else happens. I try it using the -config or the -configonly flags, I've tried it in a CMD. nada. All I see is a small box pop up, then disappear. The I type in the exe at the cmd prompt and hit enter, it just brings up another command prompt. I'd copy the FAHlog.txt file, but I seem to have deleted it, and since the new exe won't start (no work folder, no config file, no log files), I can't duplicate it.

The PC is a Dell Latitude D630, with a C2D T7500, 2GB RAM, WinXP Pro.

Any help?

There is a new dropin binary. The old client executable expired. Check this thread for more info.

Thanks for the update. All is well now. Strangely, I didn't find the notice for the new binary anywhere else. I guess I can always count on the [H]orde to help me out.
