So I got up to 71% on a recent WU, but suddenly it failed (log below). Any idea what may have caused this, and maybe how I could prevent it happening in the future?

[15:41:49] Writing local files
[15:41:49] Completed 355000 out of 500000 steps (71 percent)
[16:03:34] Unit 2's deadline (April 24 12:06) has passed.
[16:06:03] CoreStatus = 1 (1)
[16:06:03] Client-core communications error: ERROR 0x1
[16:06:03] Deleting current work unit & continuing...
[16:08:27] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[16:08:27] + Attempting to get work packet
[16:08:27] - Connecting to assignment server
[16:08:28] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.65.64).

I completed my first SMP work unit over the weekend, uploaded it, and now they have no record of it. I'm sticking with running two single-core clients until the SMP clients get out of beta.

I've had one of those. It sucks.

Indeed, it sucks. Myself, when I first used the SMP client, I lost 1 1/2 weeks for nothing since it was getting a 0x0 or 0x1 error and dumped those WU. Turned out one WU is having issues and I got the same 3x in a row.

Now, everything worked perfectly albeit one lost WU due to the stupid server who cannot be reached to upload it and it timed out.

Don't know if it's the cause, but it looks like you missed the deadline for turning in the work unit.

Yeah, I missed the deadline because every time it tried to upload, it couldn't connect to the server . But, I still got credit for the WU, somehow...
