Clicking Sound

I know that a clicking sound a hard drive means its on its way out but I ran the diagnostic tool that WD gives you for my WD 200Gb SE drive. All comes up fine. Now here is the other problem. When loading into WoW after 2 seconds it will freeze, No sound nothing and then it will unlock. The LED's on my Corsair ram stop and kind of do a "Knight Ride" effect. And to boot the Ethernet on my Epox board died.


Well do you think it could be a problem with the HD loading textures into memory and its about to fail? Or possibly a bad Mobo?

Do I hear taps in the background...

When this happened to me the drive died soon after. I think this is caused the the HD heads trying to reset themselves.

Power Supply? Post the brand and output in amps of each rail on your PSU (don't have to post all of them, +3.3, +5, and +12 are the ones that mean the most)

On the system in your sig? With a PSU that delivers 17A on +12? You've been asking for disaster all along if that's the case. Your CPU is going to pull 6-7 amps, the GFX card another 6-7 amps - that's 14 amps on +12 alone, not counting fans/drives. That PSU is simply not enough. (the current it can deliver drops as the temperature inside rises) You need to head over to the Power Supply Forum and look at the stickies to find a PSU that's going to deliver at least 20 amps on +12, from one of the recommended brands. A dual +12V like some of the Fortrons or the Antec NeoPower would be great too. Yes, you're going to spend some cash on it. But I'll bet that your problems go away, although it may be too late to save the stuff that's already been damaged.
 
For the love of all things good and pure....

Check the PSU forum and the first sticky for good PSU's that fit your budget. Do some research. Dont believe that pleather finish = good psu.
